Samsung is coming up with another variant of a budget smartphone and it's dubbed as the Galaxy J2 (2016). The device, which is an upgraded version of the Galaxy J2 that was released last year, has not been announced yet. However, like most upcoming smartphones, the rumor mill is packed already with details regarding it.

It has also been spotted on benchmarks websites like Geekbench and AnTuTu already and so far, it is purported that it will be coming with entry-level specs including a 720p display, a Spreadtrum SC8830 or SC9830 SoC and a RAM count of 1.5 GB or 2 GB. Apparently, there isn't much to see with the device.

Yet according to latest updates, the Galaxy J2 (2016) is going to be the first to come with the newest feature that Samsung has been working on. The South Korean tech giant has come up with a revamped idea for the notification LED and it's said to be called as the Smart Glow Notification feature.

As detailed in reports, the new feature is an LED ring that is placed as a border around the main camera of the device. It works just the same with the RGB notification LED that lights up whenever there is a notification. This means that the whole border around the rear camera sensor will light up when there's a message, a call or other notifications. Apparently, it's going to be more visible than the front-facing LED that is found in Samsung's smartphones.

But that's not all the function for the LED ring. It is said that it can also be used as a photo light. Others suggest that it will be used for more advance features like relaying weather information and measuring the user's heart rate. A lot is still to be revealed about the feature but for now, fans will have to wait to find out more.

Other mentioned specs of the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 5-inch display, and 16 GB memory space. The device is expected to be released this July.
