Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs news: Galaxy Note 5 successor set to arrive second week of August?

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will arrive earlier than expected, in the United States at least. According to prolific mobile tipster Evan Blass, the phablet will be released during the week of August 15.

He did not specify if that pertains to the date of availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 or if the will only be announced by the South Korea-based tech firm in that timeframe. But based on his reply (embedded below) to a fan who said that such date is not the usual Samsung does since it always opts for IFA Berlin in September, it is possible the Blass was talking about both the launch and availability falling in August.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was announced and released August. The same release scheme is expected to be applied in the Samsung Galaxy Note 6.

The tipster also stated that the Galaxy Note 5 sequel will be released in the United Kingdom. Samsung is reportedly not going to bring Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus there, so Note 5 will be the primary Samsung phablet there.

As per a February report by Tech Radar, UK users were disappointed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was not made available in the area. Samsung plans to make things up by bringing Samsung Galaxy Note 6 instead. It will allegedly be launched in August too.

"I got the impression that [Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus] had been a bit of a disappointment sales-wise and that the decision to keep the Note 5 out of Europe is now considered a mistake," Tech Radar's source "high up at one of the UK's major networks" said.

"So our information is that the Note 6 will launch in the UK in August and that there will be no S7 Edge Plus," the source continued.

Specs-wise, users can expect Qualcomm the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor or a higher-clocked Exynos 8890.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 predecessor will reportedly have 6GB RAM, a whopping 256GB storage, a more robust battery, a 5.8-in Quad HD display and USB Type-C port.
