There have been a lot of rumors circulating online that Samsung is currently developing a smaller version of Galaxy S7, which is the 4.6-inch Galaxy S7 Mini. According to reports, Samsung is planning to introduce the new device as it competes with the upcoming iPhone SE. Rumor has it that the device will have the same specs as its older brother but will come handy as it is a lot smaller. There are also reports that the device may come out in the market in 2016

Rumor has it that Apple will reveal the iPhone SE during the company's alleged event this month, wherein they will also introduce several of their upcoming products. It is said that Samsung will take the same direction as the Cupertino tech giant as they are preparing to unveil their Galaxy S7 Mini in the following months.

In a report by a Chinese website, Apple Daily, the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 Mini will carry the same processor as the current Galaxy S7, which is the Snapdragon 820. It will have the expected 4.6-inch AMOLED screen on a 720 x 1280 resolution. The device will also run on a 3 GB of RAM, along with the Exynos 8890 chipset. Since it will have the same specs as its older sibling, the Galaxy S7 Mini is expected to come in 32 and 64 GB internal storage variants with microSD expansion slot. The new device will also have a 12-megapixel rear snapper.

The current Galaxy S7 and S7 edge has premium metal body with waterproof case. The Mini is said to come out with the same impressive external design.

Meanwhile, the Korean tech giant has not confirmed the rumors as of the moment. However, with the upcoming announcement of the new iPhone SE, it is only a matter of time before Samsung will introduce a Mini version of their flagship smartphone.

If rumors prove to be true, the competition between the two tech giants will soon tighten up again.
