Samsung Galaxy S8 release date and spec rumors: 4K display, 6 GB of RAM, bendable screen?

It seems like it was only yesterday when Samsung released to the world the Galaxy S7. But right now, the rumor mill is already packed with reports on the next flagship device, the Galaxy S8.
According to a report by Tech Times, the South Korean tech giant is making some buzz already ever since plans about the Galaxy S8 emerged online. There are no official details yet, but rumors suggest that the next model in the Galaxy S series is going to boast a 5.5-inch display with a 4K screen resolution.
If it turns out to be true, it will be a major level up from the QHD resolution which has become the standard for most smartphones. Samsung has been known as well to improve the resolution in its products every two years. Aside from that, virtual reality is also put into consideration, thus the resolution boost.
WCCF Tech also reported that the device may be coming with a whopping 6 GB of RAM. The same RAM count is also said to be coming to the Galaxy Note 7 so it's possible that the S8 will be equipped that much. Moreover, Samsung recently launch the 10nm 6 GB DRAM modules so they are expected to be distributed to the flagship devices.
Another rumor that has hit the model is the bendable screen. Samsung has long been rumored to produce smartphones with bendable or foldable screen, and Galaxy S8 may just be the first recipient of such feature. It's not far from being possible since Samsung is said to be working on it. However, since mobile phone is expected to reach retail stores next year, bendable screens will have to remain a concept for now.
The device may also be equipped with the Snapdragon 830 once it arrives. There is no date yet but if the unveiling history of Samsung is to be followed, the Galaxy S8 could be launched in 2017 during the Mobile World Congress, notes Know Your Mobile.
