The Samsung Gear Fit 2 has been visiting the grapevine quite a while, but the fitness tracker's latest drop by the rumor mill resulted in a leak of its full specs sheet.

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 will sport a 1.55-inch curved Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 216 x 432. Based on this, the device will be smaller than the original but richer in visuals.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 will be powered by a Samsung 1GHz dual-core processor paired with 2GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. It will run Tizen 2.3 and will pack a 200mAh battery.

Users can also expect the wearable to come with Global Positioning System (GPS) and GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) as well as the usual health trackers namely the heart rate sensor, gyroscope, barometer and accelerometer.

The original Samsung Gear Fit was a companion for users while running, walking, cycling and hiking. Now, swimmers will finally get to rock the Samsung Gear Fit 2 as well.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2, according to SamMobile, will come with an IP68 certification, which will make the device usable while swimming. The rating should allow the device to withstand being plunged into 1.5-meters of water for half an hour.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 is expected to be released this month, although a specific date is yet to be set. The Apple Watch 2 will reportedly be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) happening June 13 to 17 so Samsung might be looking to give its rival a run for its money.

A few days ago, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 was leaked via the promotional images from marketing materials prepared by Samsung, an indication that the tech firm is ready to unveil the product.

The device was shown in different colors of bands. If the Samsung Gear Fit 2 will be out this month, fans of the Samsung wearable well get to see all this in person soon.
