'Sense8' Season 2 release date, spoilers rumors: San Francisco filming in full swing, Capheus at the forefront in new season?
The "Sense8" crew is travelling the world as they stitch together season 2 of the hit Netflix series. Their latest stopover is in San Francisco.
The production for "Sense8" season 2 continues in the famous Californian city, which was also featured in the first season. The cast and crew won't stay there for long as they are expected to fly to another location soon.
"Sense8" season 2 is being filmed in various parts of the world. It is part of the core premise of the series, which brings together eight people called sensates, who can communicate with each other mentally even though they are miles apart.
The new season is expected to bring the biggest trouble to Capheus, who is reportedly the next target of the evil organization Whispers, the same group that captured Riley (Tuppence Middleton).
Capheus will no longer be played by actor Aml Ameen, who was fired after an argument with "Sense8" co-creator, executive producer and director Lana Wachowski.
Although Ameen won't be in "Sense8" season 2, the character is not going anywhere and will instead be portrayed by Toby Onwumere, a Master of Fine Arts acting graduate from the University of California, San Diego.
Prior to snagging the key role in "Sense8" season 2, Onwumere's sole project under his belt, at least according to his IMDB page, is a guest stint in the short-lived series "The Book of Dallas."
Capheus will definitely enjoy the spotlight in "Sense8" season 2 and it will be more exciting to see someone else playing the role. Spoilers also hint that the new season will feature more steamy scenes with the couples on the show.
"Sense8" season 2 is expected to premiere sometime next year. A specific release date hasn't been announced by Netflix, although a long wait for new episodes is clearly ahead.
Thankfully, there will be a "Sense8" season 2 special scheduled to be released this holiday. This episode is said to end with a cliffhanger and will then be continued next year.
