'Shadowhunters' season 2 air date, spoilers: Sebastian is coming; new vampire couple to be introduced?

"Shadowhunters" season 2 isn't airing until next year. Details regarding the second run are also scarce but it won't be kept hidden for so long as reports said that more details will be unveiled very soon.

According to reports, further information regarding the second installment of the series based on Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" novel will be released during the upcoming New York Comic Con. A panel featuring showrunners Todd Slavkin, McG and Darren Swimmer, along with the cast, will also be taking place at the conference.

The New York Comic Con is scheduled to happen this Oct. 6 so there are just a few more days left until fans find out more on what's coming in the series. While waiting, fans are relying on the several spoilers and reports circulating online.

As detailed in a report, "Shadowhunters" season 2 will be featuring more danger for Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara), Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario), Isabelle Lightwood (Emeraude Toubia) and Jace Wayland (Dominic Sherwood).

The second installment will pick up after the events from season 1 which means the gang will be facing the troubles in the Shadow World. Slavkin also hinted in a Twitter post about the arrival of a new character, Sebastian Morgenstern. As of the moment, it's not unveiled yet who will be playing the part. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out who will be playing the controversial character.

Moreover, spoilers also suggest that the series could be introducing a new couple. The official Instagram account of the TV show posted a photo of two vampires, Raphael Santiago and Simon Lewis.

The photo did not indicate that they are a couple but the caption "Just a couple of vampires" with a heart emoji could be interpreted in a way that there's something going on between the two.

However, if the book is to be followed, Raphael is not homosexual. Also, there are reports saying that Simon will be sharing a romance with a werewolf named Maia. Nothing is confirmed though so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.
