Some gamers believe that a $60 price tag is too much for an "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" remaster. Before outrage ensues, developer Bethesda Softworks steps in to explain why it is priced as such.

Bethesda vice president Pete Hines took to Twitter to explain what gamers are getting for splurging $60 after a fan said that the value of the product is not equivalent to the value they will be getting out of it.

Hines said that with the "Skyrim" remaster, buyers will get "a full game [with] all DLC and mod support and updated graphics running on two new consoles. If you don't want that, don't buy it."

Some fans reminded him that other remasters have offered the same types of goodies, but the price was nowhere near as huge as what Bethesda is asking for the "Skyrim" remaster.

With the $60 price tag, it is basically as expensive as a brand new game, which fans did not like the idea of. Hines stuck with his explanation and told one fan who enumerated other cheaper remasters, "I understand. I'm not sure what else to tell you."

Although many believe that $60 is too much, GamingBolt says otherwise. The site argues that with the "Skyrim" remaster offering hundreds of hours' worth of content in polished graphics, it is a real score.

With that said, the game fans love and continues to cherish will look breathtaking on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Of course, gamers are getting more than that.

The "Skyrim" remaster also comes with mod support on the current-gen consoles. Those who own a copy on personal computer (PC) along with all the downloadable content (DLC) are getting it for free.

However, for many, the "Skyrim" remaster the price of a brand new game does not sound appealing to many. It remains a mystery how this will affect the sales of the title.

Fans have been dying to play it on the Xbox One and PS4. Whether or not the price tag will put them off when it comes out Oct. 26 will be interesting to see.
