'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Abbie Mills' replacement to be introduced

There will be far bigger changes in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 other than the death of Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie).

Those who were hoping that Ichabod's (Tom Mison) co-witness will be back from the dead might want to put off expectations as the show already hired a replacement.

According to TVLine, a new female lead will be introduced in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4. The character is named Anna and will be somehow inspired by "X-Files" character Scully.

A "fiercely devoted" single mother and former military officer, Anna is described "as a raging supernatural skeptic" who quickly butts heads with Ichabod. This happens to be the only similarity Abbie has with the upcoming newbie.

"She's got a tough, take-charge personality, punctuated by a wry sense of humor. She's a born leader, but she also has a softer, more caring side which she rarely shows," a description of the character reads.

Anna is expected to be Ichabod's new partner in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 and is currently being cast with the show being ethnically diverse on its search.

Apart from the addition of Anna, "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 is also welcoming new cast members. First is Anna's daughter Stella, who she is incredibly protective over.

There's also a "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 newcomer named Seth, an eager research analyst. The other one is Rosa, who is described as a female MacGyver. The last one is a yet to be named male villain.

The addition of new characters meant having to let go two more apart from Beharie. Lance Gross and Jessica Camacho won't be appearing in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, at least not entirely.

The former who played the role FBI agent Daniel Reynolds will no longer be part of the series while the latter, who portrayed FBI Agent Sophie Foster,v will only have one or two appearances.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 is headed to Washington where Ichabod will deal with a mysterious new group when the new season premieres early next year.
