Japanese electronics manufacturer Sony has finally unveiled to the public the rumored Xperia E5. It turned out that the leaked information and initial reports are correct with the details of the device. And just as what has been speculated, the device is simple and budget-friendly in terms of specifications and features.
In a report by Gadgets 360, it stated that the Sony Xperia E5 was launched in Europe with a price tag of EUR 199 (around $220/Rs. 14,900). Some sources noted that the selling price is actually pricy considering it being a mid-range device. Nonetheless, Android Authority noted that it will be made available in select markets in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
For its specs and features, the official page of Sony detailed that the handset carries a 5-inch HD display with 720p resolution. It weighs 720 grams and has a measurement dimension of 144 x 69 x 8.2 mm. Under the hood, one will find a Quad-Core MTK6735 processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. It can be expanded further up to 200 GB via microSD Card.
It also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, HDR photo, LED flash and clear image zoom with a capacity of 3x. On the front is a 5-megapixel camera. The device also runs on Google's operating system Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is powered by a non-removable 2,700mAh Li-ion battery pack. Sony claims that the device can last up to two days of battery life.
For its connectivity features, the Sony Xperia E5 reportedly comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, NFC, Micro-USB and FM radio. There are two variants as well. One carries a single-SIM capacity while the other one is dual-SIM. The colors available are white and black only.
