'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC updates: Death Star maps, new heroes, and Skirmish mode

"Star Wars: Battlefront" players will be happy to hear that a new downloadable content (DLC) is coming for the game. After an initial release that dubbed the game incomplete, EA DICE has been dishing out one DLC after another, and they are sure to keep gamers coming back for more of the galaxy far, far away.
According to EA's "Star Wars" blog, players can expect "Skirmish" mode to be available by July 21. This mode will allow them to play the game offline. In Skirmish mode, players will be allowed to fight against loads of bots, and they can also choose to play a mission alone or play with a friend in split-screen mode (which is only available for consoles).
Season Pass holders will also be able to get the digital expansion pack of "Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star" this September. Players will get to roam around the Empire's planet-destroying superweapon, and they will also be able to take control of two new heroes. The heroes haven't been announced yet, but EA describes one of them as a "larger-than-life character we know you've been patiently waiting for."
Some fans speculate that this character could be Han Solo's Wookie life-mate, Chewbacca. Other than the fact that Chewie is a large ball of fur, he's also one of the main characters that is sorely missing on the "Battlefront" action. Even Princess Leia is a playable character, and Chewie fights harder than she does.
The second hero coming is speculated to be Bossk, the reptilian bounty hunter that fans first met in "Empire Strikes Back." This would make him the fourth playable bounty hunter-hero character for the Empire; the first being Boba Fett, followed by Greedo, then Dengar. A few more DLCs down the road and fans may be able to take control of assassin droid IG-88 or 4-LOM and Zuckuss.
The Death Star map is also said to allow space battles again, a feature that players missed from the original "Battlefront" games. In the current game, battles are only available within the atmosphere, so fans will be happy to have their war in the stars once again.
For players without a Season Pass, the expansion is still available for purchase on its own, but it will come out two weeks after the digital release.
"Star Wars: Battlefront" Skirmish mode will be available on Thursday, July 21, while the "Death Star" DLC is coming this September.
