'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC updates: New weapons, single player mode leaked
A recent leak from a Reddit user reveals that "Star Wars Battlefront" has new downloadable content (DLC) underway. Not only that, "Battlefront" is reportedly getting a single player mode that allows players to enjoy the game offline — a feature that wasn't present in the initial release of the game.
According to Express UK, three new items have been leaked online for the DLC, and they are: a cybernetic female skin, a CJ-9 Bo-Rifle and a Stinger pistol.
The CJ-9 Bo-Rifle is a new type of semi-automatic weapon which allows players to deliver a new melee-type attack which also has a cooldown period. The weapon can be familiar to people who watch the animated "Star Wars: Rebels" TV series. It is the very same weapon that Zeb wields, and it is said to be a traditional weapon of his race, the Lasat. The leaked description of the Bo-rifle says, "Originating from the Lasat, the Bo-Rifle became a weapon owned solely by the one strong enough to defeat its wielder."
The Stinger Pistol, on the other hand, is reportedly a star card that will deal enemies with additional damage.
Game developer DICE has reportedly been finding new ways for players to enjoy the game offline. When "Battlefront" was first released, fans were disappointed that the only gameplay the game had to offer were online matches. People who played the previous "Battlefront" game from LucasArts will remember that the game had a story mode that took the players through the diary of an old clone trooper who was recalling his days of service in the clone wars to the transition of the republic to the Empire.
Another feature absent was the "Galactic Conquest" mode where players chose different factions (Republic, Separatists, Rebel Alliance, or the Empire) and plotted attacks on the different planetary systems of the galaxy.
No official statements have been released, but fans can hopefully expect to get the DLCs before the release of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" this coming December, the peak season when the Star Wars season will be at its peak.
