'Star Wars Episode 8' release date, plot spoilers: New leak teases surprising storyline for General Leia

There's a purported leaked script from "Star Wars Episode 8" going around, which, if genuine, will finally extinguish the fears of fans about the rumored death of another important character.

Spoiler Alert! The following contains potential plot spoilers for "Star Wars Episode 8" and plot details from "The Force Awakens." Proceed only for those who want to know.

There have been reports that General Leia (Carrie Fisher) will meet the same sad fate as her husband Han Solo (Harrison Ford), who was killed by their own son Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in " The Force Awakens."

However, it does not look that way in a purported "Star Wars Episode 8" script leaked by a leakster nicknamed Ghostface who also happens to be the same source of accurate details regarding scenes that ended up happening in "The Force Awakens."

According to him, General Leia will not meet her demise, but will actually use the Force in "Star Wars Episode 8." However, her life will be threatened in movie's opening sequence, which is only why she used the Force.

The downside here is that Leia will only have little screen time in "Star Wars Episode 8." Ghostface claims that "She's absent for most of the movie after the opening sequence."

The leakster also claimed that "Star Wars Episode 8" won't be the end for Fisher's iconic role. "As far as I know, she is in Episode 9. She doesn't die in the script for Episode 8 as it stands," he claimed.

Although Ghostface has a background of providing accurate information about "The Force Awakens," fans are still advised to take this report with a grain of salt.

In other related news, there are "Star Wars Episode 8" spoilers pointing to Rey's (Daisy Ridley) origins. In another leak, it is said that Rey is the chosen one and not Anakin Skywalker.

When Luke Skywalker finally chats with Rey in "Star Wars Episode 8," it is rumored he will tell her about the Force-sensitive tree, which reportedly gave powers to two children that started the Jedi order as well as the Sith.

This tree is believed to be the one spotted at the Longcross Studios where "Star Wars Episode 8" is being filmed.

"Star Wars Episode 8" will be in the cinemas Dec. 15, 2017.
