Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga split news 2016: Couple separate after five years
Fans of pop singer Lady Gaga have been looking forward to seeing the star walk down the aisle towards partner Taylor Kinney. However, the couple shocked fans when they announced that they have decided to call it quits.
According to reports, the "Bad Romance" singer and the "Chicago Fire" actor split after almost five years of being together and after one year of engagement. Their breakup started off as a rumor, but Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, eventually clarified their real status through an Instagram post wherein she wrote that she and Kinney have always believed that they are soulmates.
"Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break," Gaga wrote in the caption. It was also rumored that the two have been trying to stay solid despite their long distance relationship. However, it turned out that distance played a big part in their separation.
"We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared," the "Poker Face" singer wrote.
As detailed in Us Weekly, Gaga resides in Malibu while Kinney is based in Chicago for his NBC series "Chicago Fire." Some sources stated that Gaga was always flying to the "Windy City" to visit Kinney. But since Gaga's schedule is also packed with work in L.A. and sometimes with tours, the two found it difficult to make their schedules be in sync.
Nonetheless, Gaga noted in her post that the love and care between her and Kinney did not disappear. And even though reports reveal that Gaga is no longer sporting the heart-shaped diamond ring that Kinney gave to her in his Valentine's Day 2015 proposal, the "American Horror Story" actress asked her followers to "root" for them
It's uncertain whether the two will return in each other's arms or continue on their completely separate ways. Gaga's fans are hoping for the former though. Several showed their support to the Italian-American superstar via social media.
