'Teen Wolf' season 6 air date, cast news 2016: Tyler Hoechlin rumored to return; Lydia and Stiles gets romantic?

Fans of "Teen Wolf" will have to wait after Halloween to catch new episodes of season 6. Fortunately, the wait will not be so agonizing thanks to some spoilers and updates.

According to reports, there will be a lot of things happening in the final installment of the MTV series. It's even said that Tyler Hoechlin will return to reprise his role as Derek Hale. He was last seen in season 4 as Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey) mentor.

Fans are skeptical for Hoechlin's return, though, because he is currently tied to CW's "Supergirl" wherein he is set to play Kara Zor-El's cousin, Superman. However, as detailed in reports, it is highly possible that Hoechlin is making a comeback since he will only be appearing in two episodes of the DCâ€“CW series. Once he is finished, he could come back to "Teen Wolf" for the final season.

When asked by TheWrap if he will be indeed coming back, Hoechlin merely answered, "Dot dot dot," and then laughed. Showrunner Jeff Davis was also asked for comment, and he said that if Hoechlin is ready to reprise his role as Derek, they will love to have him back.

Aside from Hoechlin's anticipated return, fans are also looking for clues that would hint at the relationship of Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'Brien) and Lydia Martin (Holland Roden). Reports say that season 6 could put a spotlight on the budding romance of Stiles and Lydia. But all love stories have obstacles, and Stiles and Lydia's is Malia Tate (Shelley Hennig), the former's ex-girlfriend.

Spoilers suggest that Lydia and Malia will end up having bad blood because of Stiles. And if the previous season portrayed Lydia and Stiles unable to fully connect with each other, the upcoming season might have the two sharing a more stable relationship.

O'Brien may have been missing in action due to his accident while shooting "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure," but he is set to start filming again and return to play his character soon.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 premieres on Nov. 15 on MTV.
