"Teen Wolf" star Tyler Posey has revealed that his character, Scott McCall, is staying single in the upcoming sixth season.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Posey said, "The first half of season 5, when Theo infiltrated his life and tried to take over Beacon Hills, that really messed Scott up." However, the actor said that this coming season, Scott will be stronger and smarter, unlike in the previous season where he was "a little bit darker."

"[N]othing bad has happened in Beacon Hills lately, so he's feeling confident about that," Posey added. The actor teased that fans can expect to see Scott in a pretty good place in the new season, describing him as "somewhat happy," which is unusual for his character.

Meanwhile, Arden Cho, who plays Scott's love interest Kira Yukimura, has recently announced that she won't be joining the next season. Showrunner Jeff Davis commented on her departure, saying that the absence of Kira will help contribute to Scott staying single. The show wants to see where Posey's character will go without a particular love interest this time.

"He's had two great romances: One was the very epic and tragic romance with Allison, and we wanted to do a sort of romantic comedy side with Kira. But this season sees Scott as a single guy just trying to graduate and be there for his friends while facing yet another supernatural crisis," said Davis.

Davis went on to say that the show has never really had Scott single throughout its run. The very first season saw Scott falling for Allison Argent (Crystal Reed), and when that turned sour, Kira showed up to whisk Scott off his feet, not giving Scott enough time to actually be single.

This also seems to mirror the love life of Posey himself, who is currently single. The actor shared, "This is the first two years I'm really single, so I relate to it with Scott and I thought it was something that every person has to go through in their life, grow on their own and really figure out who they are. That's kind of what's going on with Scott."

What being single means for Scott is yet to be known, but fans can find out when "Teen Wolf" returns to MTV this fall.
