'Tekken 7' release date rumors: Bandai Namco to release the game at E3?

Bandai Namco Entertainment

"Tekken 7" has already been announced to come out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4; however, fans are still waiting for it to happen. Game developer and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has yet to provide a specific release date, which gave fans reason to believe that the company is preparing the much-anticipated game to come out with Virtual Reality or VR compatibility.

Many fans believe that the company is intentionally delaying the release of the title to make sure it comes out just in time when VR games are popular. However, this has yet to be confirmed by the company. This report has also been contradicted by someone who helped develop the game.

According to Game N Guide, Michael Murray, the senior game designer of the title, fans should not expect "Tekken 7" to be on VR just yet.

"When we announced that we're going to do something with virtual reality, people were like 'oh, so you're going to be playing in a first person and hitting each other? That sounds like crap!'" he said.

Murray admitted that it will be quite hard to apply the first-person VR feature on "Tekken 7" as it will affect the quality of the game. However, he promised that the new game title will totally excite players because of its enhanced version once it is available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This was announced during the release of the arcade version in Japan last year.

Katsuhiro Harada, the game producer, also said that the console version is going to give fans something they never experienced on "Tekken," Destructoid reported.

"When the game makes the leap from arcades to console, it will be the most complete and enhanced version up to date. We also have special content in the works that's sure to please PlayStation fans."

Meanwhile, fans are still waiting for the company to confirm the release date of "Tekken 7" as Bandai Namco has continued to stay mum about it. There are also reports that it may get released at the upcoming E3; however, this has yet to be confirmed.
