'Tekken 7' release date rumors, news: Game developer looking for a good timing to release the title?

Bandai Namco Entertainment

Although the fighting game, "Tekken 7," has already been announced by game publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment to come out on PS4 and Xbox One platforms, the game has yet to have an official release date.

With the latest announcement from the company, it appears that fans will have to wait a little longer before the game makes it to console platforms.

Game producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed that the release of the next installment will be delayed because his team is still working on polishing the title. Harada also mentioned the possibility of a crossover game between "Tekken" and "Street Fighter," considering that "Street Fighter V" is currently doing pretty well on the market today. If it will get materialized, they will release the "Tekken X Street Fighter," which has been a highly anticipated title.

Harada told GameSpot during a recent interview that Bandai Namco Entertainment empathizes with its audience when they develop fighting games.

"When we develop fighting games, we try to keep the core community in mind as well as the wider audience that wants to play these games," the game producer said. "But currently the situation is with fighting games, you have Street Fighter V that just released - a lot of people are playing that fervently - and there's a large crowd out there waiting or Tekken 7."

Harada also added that fans will have to extend their patience as they are still looking for a good timing before they release the game. However, he promised that "Tekken 7" on console platforms will be as good as it gets and it will be worth the wait.

As of now, the company is not going to provide specific information with regard to the game until they already have the release date details. Fans have been patiently waiting for the title to come out on PS4 and Xbox One since it was announced by the company in October 2015 at the Paris Games Week.
