'The 100' season 4 spoilers: World destruction set for drama's early 2017 comeback, Octavia on a downward spiral?

Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and the rest of the gang might once again get a ringside ticket to an encore of apocalypse befall their home in "The 100" season 4. While everything seemed fine in the season 3 finale, there's one thing that fans will still have to figure out.
Alie (Erica Cerra) warned Clarke that the kill switch will eventually thaw out the power plants, rendering the planet inhabitable. Although this could easily be a way to trick Clarke, "The 100" season 4 should reveal if the artificial intelligence's words have truth in them.
By the end of the season 3 finale, Alie's admonition was downplayed, which made it seem that it is not something to be alarmed about. But some speculations hint that Alie may be warning Clarke of the consequences of picking a fight with her.
If such disaster were to strike Earth once again, "The 100" season 4 will follow Clarke and the rest find a way to stop the planet from meeting its second destruction.
However, it will be tremendously hard for the group, especially with Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) becoming emotionally unstable in "The 100" season 4.
"Next season, you're going to see Octavia take a lot of really dark turns and uncover some really nasty layers," Avgeropoulos teased in an interview with Just Jared Jr. "That will be exciting for me as an actress. She's always evolving and changing," she continued.
In "The 100" season 3 finale, Octavia stabbed Pike (Michael Beach) to death. The episode ended before the others could deal with the shocking incident, but it will certainly be tackled in "The 100" season 4. It might even be launch Octavia's downward spiral.
Avgeropoulos also spoke about the short-lived Romeo and Juliet romance between her character and Lincoln (Ricky Whittle), a relationship she described as "horrible and beautiful all at the same time."
According to rumors, Octavia might find new love in "The 100" season 4 although nothing is set in stone yet. If another end of the world is coming, the group might be too busy for romance.
"The 100" season 4 premieres early next year.
