In 2018, The Avengers will see the return of The Winter Soldier a.k.a. Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in "The Avengers: Infinity War."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stan will be coming back to shoot the movie early next year. As of now, he is working on the Michael Douglas-produced movie "We Have Always Lived in the Castle," an adaptation of the 1962 story by Shirley Jackson.

The last time fans saw Bucky, he had volunteered to be put into cryogenic sleep by the people of Wakanda in order find time to undo the brainwashing that was done to him. After losing his cybernetic arm, it looks like it will be a while before fans will get to see the Winter Soldier back in action. Hopefully, he will be ready to kick some butt when he returns for the third Avengers movie.

Some theories suggest that Bucky will be coming back from his ice nap during the events of the "Black Panther" movie. Whether he will be an active member in the movie or merely making a cameo, Stan's commitments to other movies will not seem to bother any scheduling if he chooses to star in "Black Panther" or "Infinity War."

A lot of fans were expecting Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) to die at the end of "Captain America: Civil War" with Bucky taking up the Captain America mantle just like in the comics. Instead, Steve lives and Bucky was the one that was put on the sidelines. With the Winter Soldier's growing fanbase, Marvel Studios cannot afford to not have Bucky in future movies.

"The Avengers: Infinity War" will also see the return of screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film will also have the Russo Brothers (Joe and Anthony) returning to direct their third Marvel movie.

"The Avengers: Infinity War" will be coming out on May 4, 2018.
