'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 spoilers: Alfred and Mary romance; no wedding for Amy and Sheldon yet

\"The Big Bang Theory\" | CBS

The premiere date for "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 has been set.

Network CBS recently released their fall TV schedule, where it's listed that the sitcom's new season will premiere on Sept. 19. It's going to be a few months wait for the fans. Fortunately, they are not left in the dark as to what will happen next as tidbits of spoilers have surfaced across the web.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Steve Molaro teased a potential romance between Leonard's (Johnny Galecki) father, Alfred (Judd Hirsch) and Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf).

Season 9 finale left off with the two getting along well with each other and they went missing in action the next morning. Fans assumed that they went on to enjoy a steamy hookup. But Molaro has not confirmed any of that storyline.

"The details of exactly what happened, if we even ever find out all the details, will be left for the season premiere of season 10," said Molaro.

If Alfred and Mary do end up in the end, Leonard and Sheldon could become actual brothers. But as Molaro described, it would be awkward for the two. The 10th installment of the show may also show Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard getting a formal wedding ceremony. The two eloped in the previous season but Beverly did not approve of it. She wants a celebration and now Penny is tasked to organize one.

Meanwhile, fans are still waiting when Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) will get married. Speculations suggest that season 10 could finally be their time. However, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter, Molaro said that he doesn't see any surprise wedding for the two in the near future. Fans will have to stay tuned to see what happens next in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10.
