The boys will have their extreme nerd mode in the next episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9. Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Howard (Simon Helberg), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) decide to geek out on a movie in episode 23 titled "The Line Substitution Solution," but things will get tricky on how they make it work.

Sheldon promised to go shopping with Amy (Mayim Bialik) the same time the movie screens. To be able to catch the film, he will pay Stuart (Kevin Sussman) from their favorite comic book store to go shopping with her instead.

The upcoming "The Big Bang Theory" episode will reveal how he will come up with that idea and how Stuart will appear to be up for the job. It is easy to think that it has something to do with the rest of the guys.

Leonard, on the other hand, will not have to pay anyone to catch the film. In the upcoming episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) will be too busy keeping company Leonard's mom Beverly.

This means that "The Good Wife" star Christine Baranski will reprise her role as the Hofstadter matriarch in this installment. "The Big Bang Theory" fans can also expect Baranski to appear in the season 9 finale, as what has been reported in the past.

Penny has always wanted to spend some time with her husband's mom but the synopsis suggests that it won't be as easy as she imagined. Even with Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) there to help her, the description for the episode suggests she will still have a tough time "connecting" with Beverly.

There's no mention in the synopsis if she can turn things around, but this situation can easily pose a threat to Leonard's leisure time.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 episode 23 "The Line Substitution Solution" will air on Thursday, May 5, at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
