'The Blacklist' season 4 premiere date, spoilers news 2016: Red still cares for Liz; Is Alexander Liz's real father?
It won't be long until crime thriller "The Blacklist" will return to the small screen for its fourth season. Fans are looking forward already to catching new episodes especially since season 3 finale left off with major cliffhangers.
According to reports, "Blacklist" season 4 will pick up after the events from the season 3 finale. There will be no time jump which means the cliffhangers will be addressed immediately throughout the season. Fans may recall that in the last aired episode, Liz Keen (Megan Boone) was found out to be alive after all. She faked her death in order to live a normal life with her daughter and husband. She also fooled Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader).
But now that the secret is out, more twisted storylines are expected to surface including that of Liz and Red's relationship. Spoilers reveal that there will be changes in the dynamics between Liz and Red and it's actually expected since Red will feel betrayed over Liz's actions.
However, it is said that even though Liz deceived Red, the latter will still back up the former. In an interview with executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, he revealed that it's not in Red's blood to leave Liz.
"I can't imagine him abandoning Liz," Bokenkamp said. "She hurt him, but we often hurt the people we love. The fact he's been hurt isn't nearly enough for him to walk away," he added.
Red will still care for Liz and because of that he may still help Liz get out from the mess with Alexander Kirk. In the season 3 finale, Alexander revealed that he is the biological father of Liz. But it's still to be known if he is telling the truth or he is just making it up in order to accomplish a scheme.
If it turns out that Alexander has been lying all along, fans can expect season 4 to be packed with bad blood between Red and Alexander. But before all of that will be exposed, the series will explore on the real motive of Alexander. It's also still to be known how Red and Liz will be able to fix their broken bridge.
