There are only a few weeks left until the fourth season of "The Blacklist" premieres on NBC. Fans are already thrilled to catch new episodes and find out what will happen in the show after the third season's cliffhanger.

According to spoiler reports, the upcoming season will pick up from where last season ended. This means the show will delve deeper into the revelation that Alexander Kirk's (Ulrich Thomsen) is Liz Keen's (Megan Boone) father. It's still unknown if Alexander is telling the truth or if he is just messing with everyone's minds for his personal gain.

Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), however, isn't convinced and despite Liz's betrayal by faking her death, he is going to do whatever it takes to protect her. Although, Liz's alleged father isn't the only one who's making an appearance this season.

Entertainment Weekly noted that Lotte Verbeek will be reprising her role as Liz's mother, Katarina Rostova, for the upcoming season. Fans may recall that Katarina already appeared in Red's vision during Liz's wake when she faked her death. Aside from that, she was also featured in some scenes early in the series.

However, fans are wondering if the fourth installment will be the actual return of Katarina in Liz's life. It's still to be known if she will appear in the flesh or in another flashback or vision. Details about her appearance are still under wraps, so fans will have to wait to find out whether Katarina is dead or alive and whether she would make a present-day appearance.

Meanwhile, a teaser from creator Jon Bokenkamp had fans confused about an upcoming episode titled "Esteban." In Bokenkamp's Instagram account, he posted a photo of a script with the caption that says, "Today we begin shooting #theblacklist Season 4." No other details were revealed in the post, so the question of who or what the title means remains unknown. Fans speculate that "Esteban" is a new character who is set to be added to the show.

The fourth season of "The Blacklist" is set to premiere on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
