'The Defenders' plot rumors: Daredevil to lead the heroes against the Hand?

This year will see the Netflix series "Luke Cage" add itself to the Marvel TV series roster, but the third season of "Daredevil" is said to be pushed back in order to make way for "Iron Fist" and the crossover series, "The Defenders." On an interesting note, it is rumored that The Defenders will be lead by none other than the Man of Fear himself, Daredevil (Charlie Cox).
Reports suggest that the Defenders will be battling a mysterious group dubbed as the Hand. This organization has been introduced in the first season of "Daredevil," and the second season found the Hand preparing for an all out war that was put on hold by Daredevil and Elektra (Elodie Yung). Stick (Scott Glenn) had predicted that the Hand will be led by Elektra during the war, causing him to try and kill her. However, with Elektra's death, the war seems to be put on hold until the mysterious clan finds a way to resurrect their supposedly fallen leader.
With the Hand coming for New York City, which hero would be better to lead the Defenders if not someone who had already met them in the past? So far, only Daredevil has made a run-in with the secret society, and the other Defenders could sure use his help when going against a seemingly invincible foe. Sure, Iron Fist (Danny Rand) has more roots connected to kung fu and martial arts, but that remains to be seen until his series comes out next year.
"The Defenders" will see the Marvel heroes Daredevil, Luke Cage (Michael Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Iron Fist unite. Though the group seems to be a force to be reckoned with, they still lack the resources and brainpower that the Avengers are known to have.
"The Defenders" is coming to Netflix next year.
