"The Flash" season 3 is nearing its premiere date and fans are even more excited to see the continuation of Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) adventures, especially after the extended trailer was released.

In the trailer released by The CW, it featured the alternate reality that The Flash created at the end of season 2. Although it appeared to be a wonderful at first, things will eventually go downhill when Barry encounters situations that he did not expect to happen.

The teaser also showed the Kid Flash running around and viewing himself as the Flash in the new reality. The new villain has also been introduced. Dubbed as The Rival (Todd Lasance), the black-suited villain is deemed as the evil version of the The Flash. Inverse detailed that The Rival will start out as a man named Edward Clariss who is actually a colleague of Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp).

Barry was seen enjoying the new world at first but he will be in trouble when his powers start to fade away. It's explained in the trailer that the Flash's original life will slowly be erased because of the new reality that he made. He will even forget that he is the speedster superhero. Because of this, he will be forced to make a hard decision.

Meanwhile, spoilers also reveal that Barry and Iris West's (Candice Patton) romantic connection will have even more sparks in the new season. Patton revealed to TVLine that Iris is always going to be Barry's "constant" thing in his changing world. Whichever world or reality he goes in, he has his eyes fixed on Iris and he will always have that love for her.

Fans can also expect to see more of Iris and Barry's connection. "You'll get to see Barry try and woo her in Flashpoint," the actress teased. "It's really, really sweet. It reminds me of the pilot," she added. The trailer provided a preview of the two meeting each other again for the first time. Patton divulged though that because of Barry's time traveling, everyone's going to be different, including Iris.

"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
