'The Flash' Season 3 release date, cast news 2016: Casts 'Friday Night Lights' actor to play Mirror Master

The third season of "The Flash" will see the appearance of another one of the Scarlet Speedster's enemies from his rogues gallery, and this time, it will be Sam Scudder a.k.a. The Mirror Master.

According to Comic Book Resources, the actor that The CW has decided to cast is Grey Damon, who is more popularly known for his role as Hastings Ruckle on the show "Friday Night Lights." He currently stars in NBC's "Aquarius" as Detective Brian Shafe, so expect his role as The Mirror Master to be a reccurring one.

The character of Mirror Master is one of the most popular villains from the Flash's rogues gallery. In a span of 2 seasons, the show has already introduced the likes of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Captain Boomerang (Nick Tarabay), The Trickster (Mark Hamill and Devon Graye), Golden Glider (Peyton List), and Pied Piper (Andy Mientus), so fans are excited to have the classic villain appear on the show.

The Mirror Master has the power to travel through any reflective surface, making him a challenging enemy for the Flash. This is one villain he can't just outrun, and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will have to rack his brain once more to find out how to beat a guy who can travel using reflection.

The Mirror Master in the show is described to be a villain who has an incredibly large ego. His narcissism may have led the character to become obsessed with mirrors, and The Hashtag Show reports that Sam Scudder will be a master thief with good looks and a gigantic ego. He is also said to be quite a charming villain who only loves himself more than money.

The show also reports that the third season will have appearances from other comic characters like The Top and either Magenta or Rose/Thorn.

The third season of "The Flash" comes out on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016.
