'The Flash' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Another character will be alive in new season through Flashpoint?

Flashpoint will bring a lot of characters who passed away in the first couple of seasons of "The Flash" for season 3 and the list includes a certain person in the life of the West family.

In the previous season of the hit The CW series, Iris (Candice Patton) met her mother Francine (Vanessa A. Williams) as well as her brother Wally (Keiynan Lionsdale). However, the former passed away.

The possibility of Francine ending up alive in "The Flashpoint" season 3 was teased in a statement co-showrunner Todd Helbing said to TVLine.

"There are different characters that you will see, some [that have] passed," Helbing said. He added that the new season will feature "a lot of Easter egg stuff that's a lot of fun."

As teased in the past, unlike in the original timeline, Iris and her father Joe (Jesse L. Martin) are not in good terms. Family seems to be central in their plotline for "The Flash" season 3, which should allow Francine to somehow fit in the story in a way.

There are also other fallen characters that could return through Flashpoint. One is of course Caitlin's (Danielle Panabaker) late husband Ronnie (Robbie Amell) and Iris' former love (Rick Cosnett).

Speaking of returns, one will happen offscreen in the person of Kevin Smith, who was the one who helmed the well-received season 2 episode "The Runaway Dinosaur."

The filmmaker and comic book writer took to Twitter to tease the episode he will be directing in "The Flash" season 3.

"Just read the script for the episode of 'The Flash' I start working on next week and... I LOVE IT! Lots more action-y stuff than my last ep," he tweeted.

The episode from the second episode he filmed was a bit trippy and emotional as Barry was in the speed force that time and so this "The Flash" season 3 episode sounds like fight scenes will be featured.

"The Flash" season 3 will premiere Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
