'The Last Man on Earth' season 3 episode 8 spoilers: Gail, Melissa go M.I.A.; can Carol and Todd find them?
When one is trapped in an elevator in a post-apocalyptic world, how high could his or her chance of survival be? Gail (Mary Steenburgen) will definitely not be sitting around to find out in the next episode of "The Last Man on Earth."
In her quest to get away from her newly adopted daughter Carol (Kristen Schaal), Gail stumbled into one of the unused buildings in the complex they now call home. A perfect hideaway, except that Lewis (Kenneth Choi) and Tandy (Will Forte) unknowingly shut off the power in the said building to conserve electricity. Now Carol's mom is trapped in an enclosed space with little to no sound going out or coming in.
In the episode titled "Whitney Houston, We Have A Problem," Carol goes off on an extensive search for her mom with whom she previously had a mother-daughter spat. Unfortunately, she seems to be searching in all the wrong places as shown in the episode preview.
Todd (Mel Rodriguez) also goes out with her to search for an increasingly unstable Melissa (January Jones) who, unlike Gail, has intentionally gone M.I.A. Will they be able to find the persons they are looking for before it becomes impossible for Gail and Melissa to sustain themselves? Is the episode title just a humorous play on words or will the late Whitney Houston somehow play a part in either Gail or Melissa's return?
Meanwhile, Tandy (Will Forte) stumbles upon a T-Rex costume and puts it on to perhaps try and cheer his friends up. Gail becomes desperate and takes out her dummy Gordon's head to try and pry the elevator doors open. Carol and Todd scour the streets on a bucket truck in search of their missing comrades.
