'The Originals' season 4 spoilers news: Casts a new villain; next season will begin after a five-year jump

The fourth season of "The Originals" is said to begin after a five-year jump from the last season, and audiences will be introduced to a seven-year-old Hope Mikaelson (Summer Fontana) who will try to reconnect with her father, Klaus (Joseph Morgan). The series has also cast "Sleepy Hollow" actor Neil Jackson to play the villain.
The last season of the vampire drama, "The Originals," left a very grim ending for the Mikaelsons. For one, Klaus is condemned to spend an eternity of pain and agony with the Tunde Blade stuck on his chest. What's more, the rest of his family, Freya (Riley Voelkel), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) have been magically tied up to his life wherein if he dies, the rest will follow suit.
The previous installment had Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Hope flee New Orleans to escape Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), and now the two are the only hope that the Mikaelsons will ever have to survive their current predicament.
In other news, Neil Jackson of "Sleepy Hollow" fame will play the vampire Alistair. According to Movie News Guide, Alistair will reportedly be a threat to Hope and to everyone in New Orleans as well. He will supposedly seize power with the absence of the Mikaelsons. This raises the stakes for Hayley and Hope. With Hayley's seven packs and the werewolf cure that she received from Keelin (Christina Moses), she could just very well be able to bring the Mikaelsons back. Not to mention, Hope has a strange and special connection to the witches. Will Hope use her powers to save her family? Will the powers manifest in time before it's all too late?
Fans cannot wait to see what will happen, but they would have to wait until next year to see what destiny has in store for the Mikaelsons.
The fourth season of the vampire drama "The Originals" will premiere next year on The CW.
