There have been a lot of reports in the recent months on whether or not "The Sims 4" will be released on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and fans finally got their answer.

"The Sims 4" senior producer Lyndsay Pearson took to Twitter to shoot down the rumors about the game's move to the console territory.

"I want to clarify that we have no plans for a console version of The Sims 4 anytime in the near future. Ignore the rumors," Pearson said, officially putting to rest reports that the game heading to the PS4 and Xbox One.

Despite the direct debunking rumors, some media outlets believe that her remark about "anytime in the future" hints that there's still a chance that the game will be on the PS4 and Xbox One. For now though, there's no console version to expect.

In the midst of the silence of Electronic Arts, rumors popped up that "The Sims 4" is being prepared for its console jump and that the porting process is underway albeit with issues.

There were also speculations that EA is just waiting for the next-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony and that they will focus on "The Sims 5" instead.

The company reportedly abandoned all efforts for a "The Sims 4" console release because the game is not as popular as they would have wanted it anyway.

With EA's decision to skip a release of a console version, "The Sims 4" will be the first game to be made exclusive to the personal computer (PC). Its predecessors were released on other platforms.

It is a mystery as to why EA chose not to bring "The Sims 4" to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, the company has doubled its efforts to make the PC experience rich and worthwhile.

The game has been getting some love lately in the form of stuff packs. In the last couple of months, EA released Kids Room Stuff and Backyard Stuff and more downloadable content (DLC) is definitely on the way.
