'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 release date, spoilers news: Bonnie exit teased, new character revealed
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will be the last season fans will ever watch Bonnie (Kat Graham) in action, and it may also be the toughest year for the character.
According to reports, Bonnie will be at her most vulnerable state yet and could mean a disheartening end for the character in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.
The previous season left Bonnie in quite a predicament. The two most important men in her life – Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) – have lost all their humanity and are killing everyone for fun.
On top of that, she lost her magic too, which makes her basically powerless and unable to help them. However, Bonnie will still do what she can to save the two.
It remains a mystery if Bonnie will bite the dust in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 as a way for her to be written off. It will be interesting to see how that affects her curse with Elena (Nina Dobrev).
However, the end of Bonnie will happen in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, executive producer Julie Plec that they will give Graham's character a well-deserved wrap-up.
"I feel like knowing that she is feeling ready to move on and say goodbye to Bonnie, now it's my challenge and the writers challenge to do right by that," Plec told Nerdist.
"We have a year to do it so I'm excited to come up with all the different ways that her character can say goodbye," she continued.
Meanwhile, there's a new character set to be introduced in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. The character's name is Sybil, and it is unknown if she will be a friend or a foe.
According to TVLine, Sybil is an "immortal who uses her immeasurable power and influence to control other people, manipulating them into twisted games and tests for her own amusement and glorification."
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 premieres early next year.
