'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 spoilers, cast: Kristen Gutoskie joins show as Seline
"The Vampire Diaries" is going to introduce new characters when it returns for season 8. And even though it's not known yet what they will be bringing to the table, reports have detailed some of the basic information on who these new faces are.
According to Deadline, the actress who will be joining in the cast is "Containment's" Kristen Gutoskie. She will be playing the role of Seline who is described as a "warm, nurturing nanny of two young kids by day, and a small-town girl trying to find her place in a dangerous world by night." It also went on to say that she will be bonding with her new "family" and her mantra in life is to protect the ones she loves.
It's still not clear yet who Seline will be in the lives of the other characters but there are speculations going around saying that she could be looking after Alaric's (Matthew Davis) twin daughters, Josie and Lizzie. If Alaric and Caroline (Candice King) are going to help in the saving of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey), they will need someone to watch over their babies.
Other speculations also suggest that perhaps Seline is a new love interest of Alaric. It's not entirely impossible since any woman who gets close to Alaric seems to go to a romance direction. Then again, maybe Seline is also a supernatural being that has a lot to reveal when the show returns.
Seline isn't the only new face in the show though. TVLine shared that a character named Sybil will be included in the new season. There is no actress cast yet as The CW is still looking for one, but the character is described to be an immortal who utilizes her "immeasurable power and influence to control other people." She is also said to be doing some manipulation and playing games for her own amusement.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on Oct. 21 on The CW.
