The release of the next book in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series has been eagerly waited upon by fans, and Amazon France had mistakenly posted on their site that the book will be available come March of next year. Random House, the publisher for Martin's series, has claimed that the date was false and that the release for "The Winds of Winter" is still unknown as of the moment.

Random House was able to reach out through Entertainment Weekly, and they posted a statement that said: "As his publisher, we support George RR Martin as he works hard to finish 'The Winds of Winter.' Any on-sale dates currently listed online for the novel are incorrect. Once we have a publication date for 'The Winds of Winter,' the world will know."

Many are disappointed with the time that it is taking Martin to finish the book. The book was initially promised to come this year, but further delays have forced the celebrity author to push the release to 2017.

The HBO adaptation of the series, "Game of Thrones," has even caught up to the stories in the books and has been screening material that hasn't even appeared in the books yet, causing a lot of the book-reading fans to scratch their heads in frustration.

Martin has reportedly even canceled a lot of his public appearances and work in order to finish the book. There are also reports claiming that he promises to have it ready for the seventh season of "Game of Thrones" comes out.

Rumor has it that Martin is actually simultaneously writing two books, "The Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring." The reason for the delay is that Martin has chosen to write and release the books back-to-back, but then again, these are all just rumors.

"The Winds of Winter" is expected to be released sometime in 2017.
