'The X-Files' season 11 update: Teased with longer episode runs; Gillian Anderson finds it difficult to film in Vancouver

Sci-fi horror drama series "The X-Files" had its chance of being revived when Fox network decided to pick up the show for season 10. Now that it has ended, fans are wondering if it will be back for more seasons.
According to reports, season 11 may be coming soon as it is currently in the talks. Lead star David Duchovny, who plays as Fox Mulder, even teased through his Twitter account that the show will make a comeback to Fox sometime soon.
He actually tweeted it a day after Fox executives Dana Walden and David Madden spoke during the Television Critics Association press tour. It was mentioned that there have been "significant talks" regarding running another season for "The X-Files."
As of now, nothing has been confirmed, but Walden stated that if they do push through with season 11, they want to see a bigger episode count than the recent reboot which only aired six episodes back in January.
Fans of the show will be delighted to get new episodes. However, Walden revealed that they are not thinking of making a full season yet. A total of at least eight to 10 episodes will be most fitting.
"We're in conversations that intentionally we could do more," Walden said. "I don't imagine it being a full season of 'The X-Files,' but I would be really happy if we were able to get eight to 10 episodes," she added.
Walden also revealed that they initially wanted to do more than just six episodes for the reboot, but due to the lead stars' limitations, they had to fit it in with what they have. According to a report, stars Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who plays as Dana Scully, both live far from the show's filming location, Vancouver. Duchovny lives in New York and California while Anderson lives in London.
Even screenwriter Chris Carter lives up north, and they have been dealing with the issue by coordinating a time where they could all come down to Vancouver. Anderson also expressed her feelings of finding it difficult to shoot in Canada when she lives in U.K.
Fans will have to stay tuned for updates to find out if "The X-Files" will ever get another chance to see the light of day.
