'Thor: Ragnarok' updates: New costumes for Thor, Loki and Odin leaked

One of the upcoming films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), "Thor: Ragnarok," continues filming in Australia and fans still have to wait awhile before they can witness what's next for Thor. There are plenty of updates about the film and most recently, leaks of costumes used in production may have hinted at a significant plot point.

A fan recently posted photos with the characters Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and Odin (Anthony Hopkins), showcasing their new costumes in the film. This post, however, was immediately taken down but not fast enough as others managed to save the images of the alleged wardrobe overhaul.

Loki's regal green garb does not deviate a lot from his previous ensembles in past films, save for the fact that it appears to be more casual than the costumes he used before. However, this doesn't reveal how big his role will be in the upcoming movie so until now, it remains a mystery.

Another character whose costume design was leaked is Odin. A set photo that was previously leaked showed Odin looking like a hobo on the streets of New York. However, he sports an entirely different attire in the new photographs. It seems the father of Thor dropped the rags in exchange for a more elegant looking ensemble, resembling what fans imagine a monk or a hermit would wear.

Lastly, Thor also has a new ensemble for the upcoming film, one that seems to be significantly different from his previous outfits. What sets his current armor apart from the ones used in films prior to "Thor: Ragnarok" is its design which is reminiscent of the attire worn by gladiators in ancient Rome. This style of armor hints at the plot that is set to be explored in the coming movie where Thor will find himself joining The Grandmaster Games, all thanks to Loki.

Last July, Hulk's armor, which has a similar design to Thor's new outfit, was revealed and showcased at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Currently, the upcoming MCU film is still in the middle of shooting. However, "Thor: Ragnarok" is scheduled for release on Nov. 3, 2017.
