'Titanfall 2' release date news: 'Titanfall' sequel getting new gears and weapons, game snags Mountain Dew Game Fuel campaign from 'Call of Duty'

\"Titanfall 2\" is arriving this October with new items and pilot abilities to boot. | Origin

Details about the first-person shooter "Titanfall 2" have surfaced on Reddit, revealing what developer Respawn Entertainment has in store for the highly-anticipated sequel.

The leak, which has since been taken down, revealed that "Titanfall 2" will come with larger maps so that more players can take part in multiplayer matches. There will also be "a ton of new pilot abilities" in the upcoming game.

One of these is a grappling hook, which gamers can use to pull an enemy out from the sky, reach Titans from a distance and do extended free-running. The purported artwork that came with the leak did not show these elements.

Lastly, the leak revealed that "Titanfall 2" will be released in October, which is very likely considering Electronic Arts has already said that they will launch the game during the third quarter of their fiscal year.

This quarter runs from October to December 2016, so an October launch is entirely possible. Making it more exciting is that "Titanfall 2" will be released for the first time in PlayStation 4, in addition to Xbox One and personal computer (PC).

More details about the "Titanfall" sequel should be revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 next month during the company's EA Play event on June 12 to 14.

On the other hand, there's another leak going around showing that soft drinks brand Mountain Dew is dropping its partnership with Activision's "Call of Duty" for "Titanfall 2."

According to SegmentNext, Mountain Dew's promotional Game Fuel campaign will now be happening with "Titanfall 2" as part of its new arranged agreement with Respawn and Electronic Arts.

The publication believes that Mountain Dew lets go of "Call of Duty" because the next game in the franchise subtitled "Infinite Warfare" isn't a hit with fans. The trailer for it happens to be the one of the most disliked videos on YouTube.

A leaked photo featuring a couple of Mountain Dew Game Fuel bottles revealed that the brand will offer "Titanfall 2" rewards and double experience points (XP) to gamers who knock back a bottle or two of the drink. This partnership should become official by the end of E3.
