'Transformers 5' spoilers: New characters revealed, production continues in Detroit

"Transformers 5: The Last Knight" cast continues to grow with its latest addition Laura Haddock, who starred in "Guardians of the Galaxy." The actress announced her "Transformers 5" gig on Twitter.
"I'm very proud to announce that I am going to be in the new Transformers movie and acting opposite one of my all-time heroes, massive in the '80s, living legend, some people describe him as having balls of steel," Haddock gushed.
"I can't believe I get to be in his entourage... Optimus Prime! Oh and there's this other guy, he's a pretty big deal, Mark Wahlberg," the actress quipped.

For now, it is a mystery what her role would be in "Transformers 5." According to Cinema Blend, it may be a major one since she will be around key characters like Optimus Prime and Cade Yeager (Wahlberg). Haddock played the role of Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) mother in "Guardians of the Galaxy." She only did one scene in the film, but it appears she will get more than that in "Transformers 5." Haddock joins Wahlberg, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Josh Duhamel and Anthony Hopkins in "Transformers 5," which is currently in production.
The team is prepping up for its filming in Detroit after wrapping up the shoot in the Arizona desert and is looking for extras. The cast and crew will be in Detroit for eight weeks. In an interview with Fox 2, extras casting director Maryellen Aviano said that "Transformers 5" director Michael Bay "loves Detroit and loves the iconic landmarks and the architecture." On his Instagram, Bay shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring himself, Moner and a new character named Squeeks, a new Autobot made especially for "Transformers 5."

In previous reports, Moner's character was described to have a robot friend (her one and only friend) and it appears that Squeeks might be this robot.
"Transformers 5: The Last Knight" will be in cinemas June 23, 2017.
