'Uncharted 4' release date news: Beta version launched; by voice changes spark complaints from fans?

Many fans were disappointed with the changes in the upcoming "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" Beta version. A lot of players have observed that the voice of Harry Flynn has changed, which gave fans reason to believe that the voice actor has been changed. Harry Flynn appeared in the second installment of the franchise, "Uncharted7 2: Among Thieves."

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" developer, Naughty Dog, took some time to react on the issue. Since the beta released, they have received numerous criticisms from fans on various online forums. However, the speculation has been confirmed by Arne Meyer, Naughty Dog's Director of Communications, in a discussion on the PlayStation forums. He said that they have tried to contact the original voice actor from "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," Steve Valentine, but explained that they no longer have time to make changes on the game.

"As always, we do appreciate your feedback and efforts to put support behind things you like and want — we know all you want is our game to be the best it possibly can," Meyer said in response to the fans' criticism. "We did our part to make it work and it didn't work out when it should have – when we were casting the roles and negotiating agreements."

Meanwhile, Valentine's Twitter posts tell a different story regarding the whole drama. The voice actor claimed that no one has ever approached him to discuss about his involvement in the much awaited "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."

Meyer has also responded to Valentine's claim by saying that he doesn't "know why that's been said." He added that he does not want this whole thing to turn "into a he-said, she-said" scenario.

"We did reach out via his representation as we always do with all our actors. And the typical contract negotiations were had. An agreement couldn't be settled on," Meyer added.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" scheduled release is on May 10, 2016.
