Although it has already been told by the game developer, Naughty Dog, that the current "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is going to be the last title of the franchise, many fans still believe that a new installment will make it out in the market. Rumor has it that the success of "Uncharted 4" will bring everyone from Naughty Dog to the business table and discuss the upcoming sequel.

Neil Druckmann, the game's creative director, recently told Games Radar that the possibility of "Uncharted 5" is always out there. He said that Nathan Drake's adventure can always move on with another developer to create a new exciting sequel.

"If [a new developer] made a great game I'd be excited," said Druckmann. "I'd want to play an Uncharted I didn't work on. It'd be a lot of fun."

However, he explained that Naughty Dog has to get involved in the development to make sure it gets the story right.

"We'd just want to make sure they get the essence of it right," he added.

Rumor has it that if the fifth installment were to happen, they would follow the concept of the first game of the series, "Uncharted: Golden Abyss." A new character will most likely be introduced to the players.

Meanwhile, in his latest interview with IGN, Druckmann mentioned the possibility of a movie based on the highly popular action-adventure third-person shooter video game. According to the creative director, the "Uncharted" movie will be produced by Sony Entertainment and will likely come out on June 30, 2017.

"Every once in a while they'll come in and they'll present to us: here's the script, here's what we're thinking. We'll tell them what we think works, what we think doesn't work," Druckman said with regard to the discussion between Naughty Dog and the movie production people. "That's where we're at. Last I heard is they got a new screenwriter, but we haven't seen anything in a while."
