'Vikings' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Will Ragnar die this coming season?
The last season of "Vikings" had Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) returning to his home of Kattegat only to find that his village (and his sons) have come to hate him in his absence. The mid-season finale found Ragnar challenging everyone in the village square, saying, "Who wants to be king?" Fans speculate that Ragnar will be killed when season four comes to an end.

It has been reported that Ragnar might find his end at the hands of his sons, who are very prominent warriors in history themselves (Bjorn Ironside, Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye, and Ivar the Boneless, to name a few). Since the last season found Ragnar challenging his sons to fight in order to re-establish his kingship, it is quite possible that it could mean the end to History Channel's most popular Viking.
"Vikings" creator and writer Michael Hirst, however, said in an interview with History Extra that Ragnar has the blood of Odin running in his veins, so it might take more for Ragnar's sons to bring their father down.
To people who want to know how the actual Ragnar Lothbrok died, there are two accounts of his death. The first suggested that Ragnar was captured by the King of Northumbria and thrown into a pit of snakes (which was referenced in the first season), and the other stated that he died from cholera and a combination of wounds sustained when he tried to invade Paris. Also, Ragnar was known to be a very jealous king, and he feared the success of his sons Bjorn Ironside and Ivar the Boneless.
Will Ragnar survive the end of season four, or will viewers see that he has a bloody end? For being the lead character in the hit History Channel drama, it may seem kind of unlikely, but then again, nobody saw Ned Stark's death coming in "Game of Thrones."
No release date has been announced, but fans expect the second part of season 4 to return this July.
