'Winds of Winter' release date rumors 2016: George R.R. Martin is actually writing two books?

There is a rumor going around that when George R.R. Martin reveals his next book, "The Winds of Winter," he will actually reveal two books, the other book titled "A Dream of Spring."

There have been reports claiming that the two-book release could be the reason that Martin is taking his time with the next book — he has been writing them simultaneously. There are also rumors that Martin is experiencing a "writer's block" as of the moment, and he has also been distracted with watching numerous TV series like "Penny Dreadful" and "Outlander."

Fans shouldn't take this news too seriously, as they are just rumors as of the moment. Martin is also involved with the development of the "Game of Thrones" television series on HBO, so it could mean that he is also busy working on things for the production; not to mention Martin also has interviews and public appearances in his schedule.

Fans of Martin's fantasy book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire" have been waiting for "Winds of Winter" for years, but they shouldn't fret as much since Martin naturally takes his time when writing his books. He released the first three books of his series ("A Game of Thrones," "A Clash of Kings," and "A Storm of Swords") two years apart from each other, and then he spent five years writing "A Feast for Crows," then another six years before he released "A Dance of Dragons."

With the incredible amount of detail that the books go into, it's no wonder that Martin needs his time to finish at least one. Martin is also 67 years of age, and writing may prove to be difficult considering that.
