Xbox Games with Gold free games September 2016 predictions: 'Red Dead Redemption' still the top pick by gamers

August is nearing its end, and fans are speculating on what free games will be coming for the subscribers of Xbox Games with Gold. Though some have predicted that Rockstar Games' "Red Dead Redemption" would be free this month — and were proven wrong — some fans are still holding out on the hope that the free-roam cowboy shoot-'em-up will be available this coming September.
"Red Dead Redemption" is on top of the list of speculated upcoming free games. The said list also contains other games like "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and "Dead Rising 3." "Red Dead Redemption" was a major hit when it came out as it put the "Grand Theft Auto" type of gameplay in an old western setting. Gamers traded stealing cars for stealing horses, and instead of the Mafia, players would chase down old-timey bandits and cattle rustlers.
The choice for having "Assassin's Creed IV" and "Dead Rising 3" may be a good decision by the time September comes around. This coming December will see the release of Michael Fassbender's "Assassin's Creed" movie, so a refreshed interest in the franchise could be a good boost for "Assassin's Creed" material.
"Dead Rising 4" will also come out in December, with Frank West coming back to the town of Willamette to unleash all new kinds of hell. "Dead Rising 3" may get gamers pumped up for the release of the fourth in its franchise which boasts an all-new weapons-crafting mechanic and an exo-suit feature that gives West one crazy power boost against the zombie horde.
This August saw the free release of games like "Spelunky," "Beyond Good and Evil," "Tumblestone" and "WWE 2K16." Though "Spelunky" and "Tumblestone" have been on the free games list since Aug 15, gamers can still get their hands on "WWE 2K16" until Sept 15.
No official list has been released, but fans can expect one by the time August nears its end.
