Xiaomi Mi 5s specs news 2016: Pressure-sensitive display, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is said to be working on a new variant for the Mi 5 smartphone. It's expected to be an updated version while remaining relatively true to its predecessor in terms of design and form factor.
According to reports, it may be launched in the second half of the year. It's not confirmed though so it's best to take it with a pinch of salt. It's also said to be equipped with a pressure-sensitive display that is the same as the functionality found in Apple's iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus smartphones.
As for the specs and features, indicators suggest that it will carry the same 5.15-inch full HD display with 1080p resolution. Some are wondering why it will not be bumped to QHD but since it is not official yet, it can still be changed.
There is also no word yet on what processor it will carry but it is said it will be featuring a top of the range SoC. The predicted chipset is the Snapdragon 823. It's also said to be paired with a whopping 6 GB of RAM. Rumors also claim that it will have a rear dual camera and will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
As detailed in reports, it's the same fingerprint reader that is being used nowadays. However, the ultrasonic version is a bit more advanced in terms of how it actually captures prints. It has the ability to send an ultrasonic pulse against a finger, delivering the most accurate and complex image of the user's fingerprint.
Other details are still kept under wraps but for those who are interested to pick up the upcoming phone, they can expect the Xiaomi Mi 5 to carry the same display size, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G+, 3,000mAh battery together with QuickCharge 3.0 technology that offers up to four hours of battery life and 10 minutes charging.
