Chinese consumer electronics company Xiaomi is said to release a new large screen device dubbed as the Mi Note 2 Pro, a sequel to the Mi Note Pro that launched in January 2015.

Official details are not available yet but as usual, the web is packed with rumors and leaks about the purported upcoming device.

According to reports, the Mi Note 2 Pro will be a powerful device equipped with top end hardware. It is said to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED touchscreen with a full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display size is actually smaller compared to the original Note Pro which is 5.7-inches in measurement.

Rumors also have it that the new handset will be equipped under the hood with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The said chipset is claimed to deliver 10 percent better performance than the 820. Two variants are said to be available—a 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage space.

Leaks also suggest that the Mi Note 2 Pro will be featuring a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. It may come with either Sony's IMX260 sensor or Samsung's ISOCELL S5K2L1. Both of these sensors are found in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices.

A fingerprint scanner is also said to be found on the front panel of the device, which is observed to be similar to the Mi 5. Giving it power juice is a whopping 3,700mAh battery. It's also rumored to have a fast charging feature and will be pre-installed with Android N.

The release date is unknown but it's speculated to make its way out to the public by August. Predicted price tag is CNY 2,499 or around $374. None of the information released is official though so it's important to take it with a pinch of salt.

More details are expected to be released soon so those who are interested to pick up the smartphone in the future should stay tuned.
