Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date: sensitive display, 12MP camera among specs
Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi is said to be releasing a new flagship device this year. Their latest one, the Xiaomi Mi 5, was just released back in February. But it seems like Xiaomi is all set to bring a new one with reports saying that it's going to unveil a certain Xiaomi Mi Note 2 soon.
Reports say that the upcoming device is the long anticipated successor to the Mi Note series phablets that were first announced back in January 2015. And though it has not been made official yet, rumors and leaks suggest that it will be coming along with the Xiaomi Mi 5s.
The device reportedly will be equipped with a pressure sensitive display that is expected to be 5.7 inches in size. Other reports also claim that it will be coming out with three variants. One will be the standard variant which will be running with 4 GB of RAM and a storage space of 32 GB. Its expected price is 2499 Yuan (approximately $375).
The second variant will be coming with 6 GB of RAM paired with 64 GB or native memory storage. The price is said to be 2999 Yuan (approximately $450). The last one will be a curved panel device with 6 GB of RAM and a storage space of 128 GB. The expected price tag is 3499 Yuan (approximately $525).
Rumors also have it that the device will be packed with a Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor. The speculated operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow together with the company's MIUI 8 OS while the battery is 4,000mAh. It's also rumored to feature a 12-megapixel camera, a fingerprint sensor and a fast charging technology.
There is no specific date yet on when it may possibly come out but reports suggest that it will be revealed very soon as Xiaomi recently posted a teaser in their Weibo account. Some also say that it will be unveiled during the upcoming International Franchise Association (IFA) 2016 to be held on Sept. 2 to 7 in Berlin.
