The Android 5.0 Lollipop, Android's latest operating system, continues to be sent to targeted devices via over-the-air, or OTA, updates. The devices include Samsung's Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 2.

Specifically, it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE N9005 model, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800, not the Exynos variant, which is currently getting the OTA rollout in Russia.

It is recommended that download be done via Wi-Fi to avoid increased data charges. Users should also allot more than 600MB for space for the update.

The upgrade is being rolled out in phases, which means not everyone will receive it at the same time. OTA updates will come automatically as on-screen notifications. Users should only follow the instruction prompts that are provided. Another option is to check manually by going to the device's Settings>About Phone>Software Updates>Check for Updates (actual wordings may vary among different devices).

The updates are available for all major carriers in Europe and even Asia. As these often require very technical procedures, users are warned to back-up files prior to any download and to exercise caution.

According to SamMobile's exclusive preview video of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running Android 5.0 Lollipop, there were no major surprises in the latest update. You will see some of the eye-friendly Material Design influence, changed notification menu and some other minor changes in the UI. The TouchWiz influence is still strong. The main changes that users may notice are the heads-up lockscreen notification, battery life and performance improvements.

Some other improvements with the Android 5.0 Lollipop are improved security, redesigned notifications bar and upgraded battery stats.
