"Assassin's Creed Syndicate," one of this year's biggest games set for worldwide release on Oct. 23 this year on PlayStation 4, features improved stealth capabilities and more melee-based combat situations.

In last week's reveal, Ubisoft Quebec said the game is focused on two main characters – the siblings Jacob and Evie Frye, both of whom are assassins with distinctive skills. Evie prefers to engage in stealth-based activities while Jacob is best at melee combat as he has a number of brawler-like moves, including kneeing people in the face and head-butting them.

As for the stealth mode, which comes into play when Evie is around, this has been tweaked to make the movement in and out of cover appear natural. Players won't have to hold buttons down to move in and out of cover. They will also be able to create cover in their surroundings.

Many websites have described this revamped stealth system in the game as a welcome change from the previous game's unwieldy cover system.

There are indications that in the upcoming game action will be focused equally on combat and stealth.

Coming to the weapons in the game, swords will give way to concealed knives, brass knuckles, hallucinogenic darts, revolvers and a rope launcher with a hook for use when latching on to buildings and moving vehicles and for quickly moving between them.

Combat when it comes to Jacob is focused on melee fights. According to GameSpot, one such fight occurs when Jacob faces off with Bloody Nora. Evie, who is in stealth mode, arrives and shoots the gun out of Nora's hand just as she is about to shoot Jacob. This leads to a full-blown confrontation between Jacob and Nora's gangs with adversaries coming from all directions as kicks, punches and knives are thrown in.
