Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) will still have a strong presence in Norman's (Freddie Highmore) life even from under the grave in the fifth and final season of "Bates Motel" on A&E.

The mother-and-son duo remains inseparable based on the series of new posters released by the cable network. This means that Norman's twisted mental state will go on a full downward spiral after the death of his mother in season 4.

Season 5 of "Bates Motel" will revolve around the events that happened two years after Norma died from carbon monoxide poisoning when Norman attempted to kill them both in the fourth season. Norman survived because of Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell), but it does not mean that the Sheriff will let him forget about his crime in the upcoming season.

On the outside, Norman will look happy and seem to have adjusted to living on his own. But whenever he gets home and alone, he will have a hard time accepting his mother's death. This will reportedly cause him to have violent blackouts and think that Norma is trying to take over his mind completely.

Aside from dealing with the death of his mother, Norman will also encounter a new character named Sam Loomis who will be portrayed by "The Walking Dead" alum Austin Nichols. According to reports, the mysterious new character will suddenly find his way to White Pine Bay. He will reportedly make life difficult for Norman, since he will provoke him as soon as they meet each other. Could this aggravate Norman's mental breakdown?
