This appears to be the season for gloomy rap albums and "Dark Sky Paradise" from Big Sean seems to prove that. The album, his third, is billed as the best offering so far from the rapper. Recording industry pundits predict that it will eventually land at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

"Dark Sky Paradise" is expected to sell about 140,000 copies by the end of the week. This will take it straight to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The album was released via G.O.O.D./Def Jam Records.

Big Sean's two previous albums – "Finally Famous" and "Hall of Fame" – had a number of noteworthy singles such as "Dance (A$$)" and "Ashley." Unfortunately, the albums did not sell well.

Big Sean's 2011 album "Finally Famous" came in at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart with a first week sales figure of 87,000. As for "Hall Of Fame," which released in 2013, it debuted at No.3 with 72,000 copies sold. The Billboard 200 chart takes into account several consumption metrics before arriving at the final ratings. These include track equivalent albums, or TEA, streaming equivalent albums, or SEA, and traditional album sales.

Six singles from Big Sean's new album have already been released. They include the mega successful "I Don't F*** With You," "One Man Can Change The World," "Paradise," "Blessings," and "Win Some, Lose Some."

The album, just like his previous two efforts, has Kanye Wes serving as executive producer. One track in the album, "All Your Fault," features a collaboration with West.

The Verge described "Dark Sky Paradise" as a "potent mix of angst-filled raps and Big Sean's patented high-velocity flow."

As for the rest of the tracks in the album, Kanye again makes an appearance joining John Legend and Big Sean in "One Man Can Change the World," which is a tribute to Big Sean's grandmother.
